I'm looking for people to perform in the next Yo Pro Variety Show at the Actors Guild, 1 East 29th Street in Manhattan, on Monday, December 7th at 7 P.M. Dancers, musicians, poets, magicians, performance artists, actors, stand-up comedians any kind of performer is welcome, if he or she is between 18 and 45 years old. There is a 25' wide X 10' deep stage with a simple lighting board, CD player, mic, speakers, and piano. Each act is limited to five minutes, and there is seating for about 65 audience members. ("Yo Pro," by the way, means "Young Professionals.")
The Episcopal Actors Guild ( http://www.actorsguild.org ) is a charitable organization that helps performers of any fath (or none) in financial need, Checks are often written on the spot for people to pay their rent, utility, or medical bills. It is physically and historically connected to the Church of the Transfiguration ("The Little Church Around the Corner"), where my wife Claudia Dumschat is the Music Director (and accompanies during the show).
There is a Happy Hour with wine and snacks before each show, which is less than an hour long. All particiapnts receive a free one-year membership to the Guild. Performers may also make videos of their performances and iinvite friends and agents.
If you're interested in performing, contact Matt at the Guild, (212) 685-2927, or e-mail
