"My first encounter with the Equilibrium principles was at a Workshop in Durham on April 30 this year. I am always interested in new things that can help me in my business and personal life and normally with events like this there is something to learn, something to take away. I do though carry a healthy dose of scepticism, boardering on cynicism, with me on such occasions.
We were split into groups and one of the first tasks was to determine what we expected from the session and what it would be worth. it turned out that I was at a whole table of sceptics! We happened to mention that we would be looking for some "gem" to take away, but we needed convincing that there really would be something worth having. We were promptly christened the "Gems" and selected for special attention by Stephen Payne!
Since then we have been holding regular conference calls, exploring our issues and how to resolve them using the Equilibrium techniques. I am sure each member of the group will testify that the original session and more particularly the follow ups have been of great help and support.
We have explored our "fish" (this will make sense to you later...) and learned to move our focus from the external to the internal. If this sounds a bit "mystical" I suppose there is something of that about it, but it is fully grounded in scientific principles.
The key point you come to appreciate is that the solutions to our issues, concerns and ambitions and ultimately happiness are within us as individuals. We need to focus on how we approach the world, not how the world approaches us."
