What is it that builds the connection between a leader and his or her followers? Think of people in your job and look closely. Is it the power of reward for delivering on target, or the way people keep their relationships nicely positive? Or is there something much deeper going on?
For the ANE leader, the greatest connection stems from mutual respect for the inner core, the spiritual center, of each other. Delivering and relating well are surely important, but it's in this place of respect for our spiritual connectivity that we try to begin in all our situations. We trust that better decisions and outcomes will follow.
This week, whether you use a prayer, a moment of reflection, or simply get yourself calm and really listen, try starting things with your attention on the spiritual.
"Show us the pathways that better glorify you."
We all find it difficult to remember to do these things at work, and ANE exists to help us learn. Remember that the extent to which we respect the spiritual in others is a reflection of the extent to which we respect the same in ourselves. That's the kind of connectivity that really grows people.
Stephen,
Calm, Confident, Connected
Grounded, Growing, Grateful
