As ANE leaders, we make the choice to integrate the spiritual dimension into our jobs, in part because respecting this unique presence in others helps us expand it in ourselves.
Getting our inner core, our spiritual center, in balance before we begin things does not mean holding back on our energy or sense of accountability. On the contrary, it brings a sharper focus uncluttered by anxiety. If we are calm when we start, others react to us similarly, and then the upward spiral of productive thinking progresses. Start in an over-anxious or negative place and the spiral goes in the opposite direction.
"When she leads us, I feel we all get focused on how we can get better."
This week, calm yourself as you meet people by asking: Am I focused on me or on them? On what they have to do or who they can become? On what they're getting wrong or what they're good at?
