If you let it, the business world will tag your leadership style with many labels. Each one is an attempt to fit you to someone else's definition of "perfection." Be careful. Such leadership typing only touches the surface; it never reaches the core of who you really are. And because these tools are designed to make you like someone else, they can never bring you that greater sense of confidence, that incredible feeling of certainty, that you can command any situation you face. Why? Because that kind of confidence takes connecting to the spiritual core of whom you truly are and can become. That calls for tools that get far more of the deeper you engaged -- not less.
That's why we share ANE's techniques and tools. When one leader finds a way to connect spiritually at work that has a deep effect, like being far more calm and confident, we encourage sharing so others can try. Who wouldn't want the pleasure of leading from that place?
This week, when you join a business meeting, try this suggestion from an ANE Leader. "At the start," she says, "I take just 15 seconds quiet time to check-in with myself that I am fully present for everyone. I'm the meeting leader, I start by asking everyone present to pause quietly for 15 seconds and ask themselves to be fully present and committed to bringing their truth to the meeting. It's so simple, people willingly do it, and it's amazing how well we all get moving down the right track. The outcomes are always better this way."
