An ANE Leader in the UK offers this advice after taking our Inner Spirit Quiz.
"Do you get enough silence? Just think about your phone calls, conferences, meetings, travel, conversations, and so on. Too much noise depletes and dilutes our leadership. It distracts us. It saps our spirit, makes us irritable and less present for people. How much of your time is sufficiently noise free so that your spiritual core can get some refreshment? Did you ever experience the joy of silence? Spirit and silence are wonderful, natural, partners. When you sit in silence, your spirit can be heard.
Since we need our cell phones, need to attend meetings, need conference calls, etc., what can an ANE Leader do? One tool is to engineer a silence slot into each and every day. Just as you plan travel, schedule meetings and calls, you need to plan your silent time(s). Look at your calendar and decide when is the optimum time of day for silence. Then schedule it into your day. Ten to fifteen minutes is perfect. Then, at the planned time, turn off phones, turn off your PC if you can, even put a Please do not disturb note on your door. Sit down, remove your shoes and undo tight clothing. Relax, close your eyes, breathe deeply and in your mind go to a place where you have always felt peace, maybe a beach, a mountain top, or perhaps your church. Now simply relax and enjoy your place of peace and silence. When you are there be assured that Spirit will find you and join you. The results can be amazing."
