Your work life is very busy, right? You go from meeting to meeting where you and other people are making decisions. Sometimes you look around and wonder why you're there. After all, you're not the expert, what do they need you for?
Never say or think "I bring nothing to the table."
It's self-sabotage that limits the team performance and your career. When you believe you bring nothing, guess what you bring?
It's the application of a common spiritual leadership error called Cut-Off. By deliberately deciding you are nothing you suppress all the amazing creative power at your inner spiritual core. You simply deny the power of all the good in you that wants to find greater expression in the world.
The spiritually engaged leader can never be nothing. Spirit is all good. You may have poor knowledge, no ideas, and little experience. You may even be a stranger to the people present. But you always have the power of your spiritual core to help the situation.
What can you do when you feel like a stranger. Try some of these practical things:
1. Where there's teamwork…... BRING praise, recognition and gratitude.
2. Where there's planning…... BRING connection to the greater purpose
3. When it's far too frenetic…… BRING moments of creative calm
4. Where there's anxiety…… BRING your confidence to the team
5. Where you see defensiveness….BRING your way of showing trust
You don't have nothing, you have your amazing spiritual core.
And so do the others you meet.
So don't say or think it about them, either.
