It's when we don't have all the answers that we get a glimpse of the power at our inner core. Digging deep exposes more of who we really are, despite the strain. Sand paper bringing out the strength of the grain. Success bringing the deep satisfaction of knowing that our journey really does have meaning. That's the best kind of joy.
Then, anticipating there will be a next time, we vow to keep the power alive and well honed. But life's practicalities crowd it out. Busyness is a safe veneer. Why bother? Expanding our deeper selves at work is impractical and low priority. "I'll start next time. I've too much on. I'm cool for now." But the patterns repeat.
Some day the truth bursts in. The affirming power at our inner core is there to be used for the greater good of ourselves and others. Our own thinking is the design instrument for a life with a new kind of career journey. Understanding, expanding and applying our beliefs becomes urgent. Serving mankind takes on new meaning.
A new Personal Mission emerges. Beyond career advancement and wealth generation we start, at last, to shape the business person we are meant to become. That feeling of joy takes prime position atop the performance metrics.
Does your Personal Mission have enough clarity and energy? Is your joy metric in the green? Come to our Princeton, NJ, November 1 & 2 Summit: Sustaining Performance with the Power of a Personal Mission.
