Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

One of the principles that will change our life the most is that of vision—or of being in a future state as if it were already true. Jesus said, “I tell you…everything you ask and pray for, believe that you have it already, and it will be yours.” Mark 11:24

As leaders we need to teach and demonstrate transformation, and faith gives us transformative powers. We need to see what isn’t seen yet, cross bridges that haven’t been built yet and breathe the faith in our vision into our teams/coworkers/family or friends.

It reminds me of the story of a young girl at the site of Lourdes in France. The young girl saw Mary and Mary asked her to dig in the dirt. The villagers mocked her for she was digging in a pigsty. Day after day, the young girl returned to the site to continue to dig. And suddenly her fingers felt dampness in the soil. The dirt turned to mud and the mud turned to water and a spring was born—a spring that brought forth healing waters—a spring called Lourdes. This young girl believed in the stream even though at the time it was spoken of to her, it wasn’t there.

A young boy was given a dream. He saw his brothers bowing down to him, and there were sheaves of wheat everywhere. He awakened in a state of wonder and shared the dream with his older brothers. “What, shall we bow down to you?” they said before thowing him into a well. He was then sold as a slave and taken to a foreign land. Many years went by until one day, he was ruler of Egypt and all it’s wheat. His brothers came from home seeking food, and not suspecting that the man before them was their brother, bowed down. Joseph was given a vision that came true in God’s perfect time.

As spiritual leaders we have a God given vision. No matter what the present circumstances , God sees clearly the real you—the healed you—the powerful you—the prosperous you—the person you dream to be—the person you really are, prospering in that abundant life. Now our job, as faithful leaders is to breathe that vision into others.
