Business performance and the water cooler chit chat--do they have anything in common? I just had to know, so I did a little research and found The Water Cooler Project. WCP is a small business that appears to explore a company’s diversity issues through informal conversations. So how and where might ANE leaders connect?
Over the years since ANE’s inception, conversations have frequently developed on the importance of the leader’s personal investment in their leadership development, what/how the leader models, and the content of the conversations they encourage in the work place. Simply put, that leaders who want to grow and develop a respected company choose to consistently invest in their growth and foster a respectful environment.
What are the conversations that you have around the water cooler with colleagues? Do you only talk about work performance? Does your Faith enter the dialogue? Do you only speak of personal issues? Do you speak of the mundane and boredom with “the grind” of your everyday in the workplace or talk about trying new activities? How does your humor impact the work place? Is the culture that is created helpful to new ideas or limiting?
Please join Bob Weinhold and other ANE members for a call on Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. The call will seek to understand if those conversations really matter? And will your greatest strategies for your company come out all wet if you don’t realize the power of “The Bubbler!!”
Bob Weinhold hosts an Inspired Leadership in 30 phone call.
