Why are we drawn to heroes and tales of heroic deeds? They perform great feats for the benefit of others, often in dangerous situations and at great risk to themselves. We hold them in the highest esteem.

What draws us so intently?

We see a glimpse of what is possible – a Greater Good – if our true inner selves were to shine through!

And why is it that we don't see business and civic leaders described as heroes? Often times, leaders stand out for defying the odds. Less often they stand out for defying the conventional wisdom, which suggests that business comes first at the expense of “personal” goals. It's rare that we hear of the everyday heroes in the workplace – those who lead themselves and others in their charge through challenging, sometimes personally perilous situations, day in and day out.

Can you recall when you or a leader you admire performed a “minor” act of heroism in the workplace, daring to strive for a greater purpose and result? What were the outcomes, and how many benefitted? Were there also measurable, positive business results?

As spiritually intentional leaders, we dare to find the greater purpose in ourselves and those around us as a means of driving personal and business success. We seek that greater purpose and invest ourselves in a Greater Good, not at the expense of the organizations we serve, but to the tangible benefit of those organizations and their stakeholders. We believe resolutely that a Greater Good is not only always possible, but readily achievable, even when those around us or those to whom we are accountable may not be able to see it as clearly.

Know that we stand as a community of committed leaders ready to support you as you strive heroically to achieve a Greater Good.

Dare to be an everyday hero in your leadership role this week!
