People prefer to categorize things. It saves time. And this time of year, two categories that come to mind are "naughty" and "nice."
And often times, when direct reports (or peers) make mistakes, there is a tendency to judge automatically and place them on the "naughty" list.
And when we pause, in the cool light or reason, do we really believe they *intentionally* made that error? Or were they making, what they believed, at that moment in time, the best decision they could make?
Please join us for our leadership call at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16 to discuss about how we might assume positive intent when we want to pass judgment and place people on the "naughty" list.
