Sad news by way of Master Haller: Dear JE Student, I am greatly saddened to inform you of the death (on Saturday 12 August) of Heidi Kaminskas-Chagnon, Administrative Assistant to the Dean. Heidi has been a caring member of our community for some three decades. While she presented a certain wily irreverence toward the daunting Yale undergraduate, most came to love her and all depended on her to keep them in good standing with the Registrar, Yale College Dean's Office, etc., and to remind them of the unending deadlines that require their attention. As much as she was the assistant to the Dean, Heidi always saw herself in the broader context of doing what needed doing on behalf of the Master, Associate Master, and Master's Administrative Assistant as well. In fact, she was just as relentless in her reminders for the Master as she was for JE students. A wake and a funeral service are open to all as indicated below and it is my intention to arrange a memorial in the College in September.
