What is it that causes one team of people to perform brilliantly but another, in the same situation, to miss by a mile. If you've ever been on a team where I was the leader, you know why I ask!
It's the idea of a team transcending their own individual expectations and getting into "The Zone" of far greater possibility together, and trusting each other so well that amazing things are achieved.
At our ANE breakfast on Thursday, ANE leader Bob shared his approach:
"It's critically important in leading teams, small groups, and individuals for me to find fresh ways to help people see where they are in the process of becoming fully present and spiritually connected to the greater purpose of what we have to achieve. When we help people discover this deep connection for themselves, they find the energy to change, to trust, to do far better. Working to help them make and keep that connection is me being more spiritual as a leader."
This idea of having a greater purpose for leading is a spiritual idea. Does your greater purpose create a spiritual connection in you? Helping others make their connection is so much easier when it does.
As you go into meetings this week, ask yourself: What's the spiritual reason I'm here?
