Talking of neediness, does it infect your job? It's a very weak leadership response. It stems from reacting to situations with fear at one's inner spiritual core. Without using some of the inner core tools we have at A New Equilibrium, it spreads outward into the organization via anxious conversations. People start responding to a boss's neediness and not the true goals of the organization. Even worse, after repeated exposures, the culture of fear takes root and the organization flip-flops according to the mood "at the top."

The antidote lies in how the leader manages his or her inner core in situations to bring peace and calm. There's a 1-minute audio clip of me discussing this with a leader in a manufacturing company. What do you think of his closing line? Just brilliant!
