Last week somebody said "A New Equilibrium is about Spiritual Business Leadership."
"No," someone else pointed out. "It's Spiritual Leadership of Business."
Confused, I got back to basics…..
The business leader on a spiritual journey reaches a higher elevation in doing his or her leadership work. The sense is one of being more calm, confident and complete. The outcome is always improved results from the work.
You don't have to strive for these feelings, they come automatically when you choose to seek a spiritual connection as you work. There's a spiritual power that guides you in this process - people call it intuition, God, Spirit, Jesus or Brahma. To get to that power you have to aspire, respect and believe in it sufficiently to do something, some committed spiritual thought or action, first.
If it's true for the leader, then it must surely be true of the individuals in the team or organization, whether they realize it or not. The greater the sense of calmness, confidence and completeness of the individuals, the greater will be the harmony and productivity of the whole. The leader has the special position of power to enable far more than the mere arithmetic sum of the parts through his or her own spiritual connection.
It's the Spiritual Dimension of Business Leadership that we were talking about - safely integrating new spiritual ideas, tools and processes to enable sustained business performance through people.
As we say at the start of every meeting. "You are now in the company of leaders who intentionally use their spirituality to drive business results."
Will you drive intentionally this week?
