What does it really mean to “Suit up and show up?” This expression has been used in leadership presentations, management meetings, politics, in some parenting discussions, and in the Recovery communities. Today, tomorrow, and this week we ask you to strongly consider what it means for YOU to “suit up and show up” in regards to your intentional leadership.
Does your “suiting up” involve wearing a WWJD bracelet, a yarmulke on the subway to work, dressing well for work, a Cross necklace, a statue of Mary in your yard, Buddha on your bookshelf, or a Bible on your desk?
Does “showing up” mean that you arrive early, stay late, come in during snowstorms, volunteer for the homeless shelter, contribute to philanthropic endeavors, take a new class, mentor others, spend time taking care of yourself, delve into religious reading, do something unexpected for another person, add/take away something for Lent, or smile genuinely when you ask someone “how are you today?” So today we will end with a quote from Martin Luther.”
“The Christian shoemaker does his duty not by putting little crosses on the shoes, but by making good shoes.”
To be “Calm, Confident, and Connected” we believe it involves intentional effort, so please join us for an afternoon retreat on March 22 or our weekly calls on Tuesday morning and Wednesday night.
ANE will host “Inspired Leadership in 30” phone calls:
Tuesday, March 10 at 7:30 am and Wednesday, March 11 at 8:00 pm.
