Correct Service | Backing Up | Security Wipe | Enterprise Activation
Make sure cellular provider has provisioned you with “Enterprise” or “Corporate” service. If you’ve purchased your Blackberry on your own (as opposed to having been issued one by your company or organization), the service plan that you’ll be provisioned with will most likely not support activation on a Blackberry Enterprise Server.
The standard service level is called “Blackberry Internet Service”, and it allows you to browse the web on your device and configure email accounts via POP or IMAP (among other services), but if you try to initiate Enterprise Activation, it will fail.
An incorrect service plan is the top reason for failed activations. Luckily, it’s easy to correct – just call up your cellular service provider and tell them that you need to activate your device on a Blackberry Enterprise Server, and they’ll provision you with the correct data plan.
