Dialing a Telephone Number
Activate a dial-tone prompt one of four ways:
· Lifting the headset
· Press the speaker button
· Press an empty line button
· Press the headset button (only when a headset is connected)
Enter the phone number using your phone keypad. You will see Calling and Connected in sequence as the call is being connected. At the end of the call, hang up the phone to disconnect. For a headset or speaker, you must also push the X button to end the call.
Please Note: Enter 1+ the 10 digit number when dialing long distance
Muting a Call
Mute the handset, headset or speakerphone by pressing the mute button. This prevents the person on the active call from hearing what you or someone else in the room is saying. To cancel the mute function press the mute button again
NOTE: On the 300 series the mute button is the bottom of the 6 right buttons
Dialing a Phone Directory Listing
To access local phones Directory Press the directory softkey. Scroll down until you find the number you wish to call, press the dial softkey.
NOTE: On the 300 series the directory button is the third from the bottom of the 6 right buttons
Redial
To see a list of recent calls made, press the redial soft button. Scroll down until you find the number you wish to call, press the dial softkey.
NOTE: On the 300 series the redial button is the fourth from the bottom of the 6 right buttons
Three way conference calls
To initiate a conference call, put the current call on hold by pressing the hold softkey (this can also be done by directly picking up a new line). Pick up an empty line and dial the second persons telephone number. You will be talking privately to the second party when he/she picks up. (First call remains on hold) TO start the conference press the conference softkey. All three parties will now be participating in a conference call.
NOTE: If you hang up the other two parties will be disconnected
NOTE: The 300 series does not support local conference calls
Placing a Call on Hold
Press the hold button to put the active call on hold. If there is another incoming call you can now answer the 2nd call
Resume the 1st call by pressing the line button associated with the 1st call. If the 2nd call is still in progress it will automatically go into the hold state when the 1st call becomes active.
NOTE: On the 300 series you must press ## to put a caller on hold
Transfer a caller
Please Note: There are two kinds of transfers. Blind and Managed. Your phone system can handle both.
· A managed transfer is when the call is announced to the call receiver before the transfer is made.
· A blind transfer is when the call is transferred to the transfer receiver without notifying the receiver of the transfer first.
NOTE: On the 300 series the transfer button is the second from the bottom of the 6 right buttons
TEMPORARY WORK AROUND:
During a call first put a person on hold by pressing ##. Then Proceed normally as below:
During a call first put a person on hold by pressing the hold button. Pick up a new line and call the extension you wish to transfer the call to.
When ready press the transfer button twice. You can hang up any time after the transfer.
During a call press ## + Extension Number
Note: Make sure to wait until the transfer is complete and the line hangs up on your phone before hanging up, otherwise the transfer will not be completed.
During a call press ##. Then press * + 1 + phone number + #
Your call will now be transferred. You can remain on the line to introduce the transferred call to the next number. Hang up at any time to complete the transfer or, to cancel the transfer press **

Phone Directory Setup
For numbers you call often you may want to set up a personal directory. To add entries to your personal directory please follow these instructions:
· Press the directory softkey
· Select <New Item> pres the key below the 6 dots on the screen
· Enter a name and press the check softkey
· Enter a number and press the check softkey
· You will be bounced back to the main directory. You can now call using the directory
Ring Tone
To change the default ring tone please follow the instructions below.
· Press the menu softkey
· Select line and press the check softkey
· Ringtone and press the check softkey
· Select the identity and press the check softkey (typically there will be only one identity per phone)
· Scroll though the ringers and select the one that you prefer by highlighting it and pressing the check softkey
· Press X repeatedly until you are back outside the menu
Accessing the voice mailbox
Access the voice mailbox by pressing * + Password + # +1
· replay press 1
· save press 2
· erase press 3
· return the call press 4
· forward the message to an extension press 5
· skip the message press 6
